- Williams Orchard began in 1868 when Grandmother Ester purchased a bundle of fruit trees from a traveling salesman at the end of the Civil War. The two story historic barn was built in 1880 with hand hewn beams and log floor joists. Years later concrete floors and electricity were added. As the business grew, additions were added on both ends of the original barn. Peaches were later added and the first peach crop was sold in 1913. Generations of families have created a tradition and some traveled long distances to visit the Orchard in late summer and early fall to purchase or to pick the best peaches and the best variety of apples around. This Orchard was still in operation this past fall 2017. The scenic property has picturesque rolling hills with over 60 acres of apples and peaches. Tillable farm land as well as some wooded land total 134.95 acres of land. Trees were pruned and are ready for the new growing season. Waiting for the right buyer to start another 100 year tradition!
